Seungmin Fruman

My research concerns museums and cultural institutions in postcolonial perspective, with a regional focus on Korea and Japan. I am interested in the intersections between historical narrative, memory, and the museum space, as well as the ethics of contemporary cultural heritage management. As an undergraduate majoring in Art History with a minor in Asian Studies, my research projects explored the legacy of the Japanese occupation period within the landscape of Korean art. Apart from my academic work, I enjoy painting and playing music.
